Laila and Jamal
Laila and Jamal is an original stage adaptation Manu Joseph’s critically acclaimed novel, Miss Laila, Armed and Dangerous. The stage adaptation is an outcome of non- linear time and place relationships. The play is set in the backdrop of a demolition site. This site then transforms into varied urban landscape through lighting.
The intent of the set was to evoke a sense of brutality captured through the concrete debris playfully curated to convey multiple arcs that the play takes you through.
